Star forward Napheesa Collier continues to lead the Minnesota Lynx, stepping up big time in the WNBA Finals Game 1 on Thursday against the New York Liberty. Sure enough her husband, Alex Bazzell, couldn’t be more proud.

Collier scored 21, including four crucial points in overtime. Her game-winning moment came with just over eight seconds left on the clock when she hit a turnaround fadeaway jumper, sealing the 95-93 win for the Lynx.

After the Lynx kicked off the 2024 WNBA Finals with a thrilling victory over the Liberty, Bazzell took to social media to express his excitement.

His proud shoutout , “My wife is HER,” captured the admiration he feels for Collier’s incredible performance.

Following the game, Collier responded to her husband's message with a playful, laughing tongue-out emoji.

Collier's shooting was impressive, as she made 62.5% of her shots from the field. She also tallied eight rebounds and two assists in 43 minutes of action.

Bazzell, who serves as a basketball skills coach for players in both the WNBA and NBA, has been a crucial part of Collier's journey. Their love story began when he trained Collier during her time at the University of Connecticut, per PEOPLE.

The couple welcomed their daughter, Mila Sarah Bazzell, in 2022, adding another layer of joy to their lives.
