It's a winner-takes-all affair in Game 5, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are bringing in the big guns. The Dodgers started Japanese rookie Yoshinobu Yamamoto for Game 5 against the San Diego Padres.

With the season on the line, Yamamoto turned in a solid effort. The Dodgers star pitched five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out two. It's a good sign for Yamamoto, who is coming off an injury.

After Yamamoto went out of the game, the cameras caught him celebrating with fellow Japanese star Shohei Ohtani. Take a look at this little handshake between the two stars.

Fans were loving the interaction between the two Dodgers stars.

"being cutesy like its not a do or die game :-(( luv them :-(("

Others are pleasantly confusedi with their choice of celebration.

The Dodgers are one inning away from reaching the NLCS for the first time since 2021. The Padres pushed Los Angeles to the limit, taking a 2-1 lead after Game 3. However, timely hitting from the Dodgers and another outstanding bullpen game gave the Dodgers a breath of life to force Game 5.

This is both Yamamoto and Ohtani's first playoff run in the MLB. Yamamoto bounced back amazingly from his disastrous Game 1 start, where he gave up five runs in just three innings. As for Ohtani, his hitting hasn't been on the same level as the regular season, but he's drawn timely hits and walks when needed.
