Arizona State Star Cam Skattebo Sends Bold Message to College Football World

Arizona State toppled No. 16 Utah 27-19 on Friday, and star running back Cam Skattebo had a bold message after the victory.

Skattebo was the catalyst for the Sun Devils. The senior running back racked up 199 total yards and served up a pair of game-changing touchdown runs. One went for 50 yards and he sealed the win with a 47-yard run in the fourth quarter. Skattebo also added four catches for 41 yards, including a clutch over-the-shoulder grab late.

It's the second big performance in a row for Skattebo, who rumbled for 182 yards against Kansas. He also notched 262 rushing yards in a 30-23 victory against Mississippi State earlier in the year.

The Sun Devils have surged to a 5-1 record — their best start since 2019. But after the upset win, Skattebo has his sights set on even bigger goals.

“We just beat the No. 16 team in the country. So who says we can’t beat anybody else?” Skattebo said after the win .

Arizona State's win total for the year was set at 4.5 and the team was picked to finish last in the Big 12 in the conference's preseason poll. Sun Devils head coach Kenny Dillingham had a message for those who cashed in their tickets on ASU hitting the over.

"For those of you who won, put that money back in the collective," Dillingham joked after the game.

Arizona State is set to face Cincinnati next week but have two challenging matchups on the horizon against ranked opponents: No. 18 Kansas State and No. 14 BYU.
