Steelers 4 Best Bets To Break Slump

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to get back on track after their strong start to the season. Following two straight losses, the Steelers are looking for answers on offense after recent struggles.

They now face a Las Vegas Raiders team that ranks No. 15 in pass defense, allowing 201.4 yards per game, and No. 22 in run defense. The Raiders have been susceptible to big plays, but the Steelers' offense has yet to capitalize on such opportunities this season.

A key factor for the Steelers will be who steps up to score the first points and set the tone. Let’s take a look at the most likely contributors:

Kicker Chris Boswell – Boswell has been the team’s most consistent scorer, leading the Steelers with 44 points on 12 field goals and eight PATs. If the offense continues to stall in the red zone, Boswell will likely be called upon to put Pittsburgh on the board first.

Quarterback Justin Fields – Fields has been the only player to rush for touchdowns, scoring three so far this season. His dual-threat ability could be critical against a Raiders defense that struggles to contain mobile quarterbacks.

Tight End Pat Freiermuth – Tight ends have been a bright spot for the Steelers, with Freiermuth, Darnell Washington, and Connor Heyward each logging a touchdown this season. Against a Raiders secondary that has shown vulnerability, Freiermuth might have another opportunity to find the end zone.

Honorable Mention – Najee Harris – While Harris has yet to score this season, he’s contributed 270 rushing yards and remains a key part of the offense. If he can get in rhythm, he presents a dangerous option for the Steelers.

Pittsburgh will need contributions across the board as they aim to break their losing streak and regain their early-season form in this pivotal AFC matchup.
