Alabama will be without a key member of the offense when they take on South Carolina on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide are coming off a major upset to Vanderbilt, and falling to No. 7 delivering a blow to their playoff hopes. Alabama has a chance to rebound against the Gamecocks, but will do it without one of their wide receivers.

Wide receiver Kobe Prentice had been listed as questionable earlier in the week, but the team decided he will not be on the field for what could be an important bounceback game for the Crimson Tide.

"Kobe Prentice is out for the South Carolina game, per SEC availability report," Al.com reporter Nick Kelly shared in a post on X .

Prentice has eight catches this season for 107 yards with one touchdown.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer said earlier in the week that both Prentice and fellow wide receiver Kendrick Law were working toward a return.

“Both of them are out here going through workouts,” DeBoer said on Wednesday, via On3 . “On track like we thought they should be, making progress towards the weekend. I wouldn’t say they’re a full-go yet, but they’re on pace like we had hoped. Getting some work in, some individual and some team work there, too. It’s progressing along, and they’re doing a good job.”

Law, who has two catches for 41 yards and a touchdown this season, was listed as a gametime decision but was seen in full uniform on the field before the game against South Carolina.
