The "College GameDay" crew was in Eugene, Oregon, for the top-five showdown between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 3 Oregon Ducks. Some top-10 teams like the No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels and No. 13 Penn State Nittany Lions are on the road in Week 7.

Ole Miss travels to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge to take on the No. 13 LSU Tigers, while Penn State faces the USC Trojans on the road.

The Red River Rivalry is another highly-anticipated game now that the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners are in the SEC. However, Desmond Howard shifted the focus to another SEC game taking place.

LSU and Ole Miss have over 100 meetings as SEC foes and meet again as ranked opponents, similar to last season. Ole Miss won a 55-49 shootout in Oxford last season, with both teams putting over 600 offensive yards.

Although ESPN BET favored the Rebels by two-and-a-half-points, Howard believed LSU had what it took to pull off the upset in Death Valley. Howard quoted former LSU head coach Les Miles when making the pick. Miles coached at LSU from 2005-16 and won a national title in 2007.

"LSU is coming off of a bye, but more importantly, it's Death Valley at nighttime," Howard said. "Les Miles once said, 'It's where teams' dreams come to die.' I got LSU over Ole Miss."

The 2023 edition of Ole Miss-LSU featured eventual Heisman winner Jayden Daniels, who threw for 414 passing yards and had five total touchdowns. However, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart scored a touchdown with 39 seconds to go that secured the Rebels' win.

Now Garrett Nussmeier is under center for the Tigers, and Dart is still the starting quarterback for Ole Miss.

LSU leads the all-time series 65-42-4 and has won six of the last eight meetings with Ole Miss. Kickoff from Tiger Stadium is at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
