It was a wild scene in Eugene on Saturday morning as "ESPN's College GameDay" set up shop ahead of the showdown between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 3 Oregon Ducks.

A "GameDay" scene is always crazy, but in Eugene, it's different.

One of the biggest attractions is always The Duck, Oregon's beloved mascot who takes bold chances and shoots his shot in extravagant ways. On Saturday morning, The Duck took another bold swing and chose to ask out his crush via a sign on the telecast.

"Sydney Sweeney Call Me Back," The Duck asked in writing on the show.

It was a valiant effort, but Sweeney ended up shooting down The Duck's advances in the end.

The Duck was a complete menace on Saturday's show, and at one point sprayed ESPN reporter Pete Thamel in the face with silly string while he was giving an injury update on Oregon star defender Jordan Burch, who is "uncertain" to play in this game against the Buckeyes.

Thamel, the consummate professional that he is, finished the sound bite despite his face being covered in green string.

While we don't know how the courting of Sydney Sweeney is going for The Duck, it ended up being a happy Saturday morning for him as three of the five analysts on "College GameDay" picked his team to beat Ohio State. Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and guest picker Kaitlin Olson all chose Oregon, while Kirk Herbstreit and Nick Saban sided with the Buckeyes.

We will find out who is right in a matter of hours, with the kickoff between Oregon and Ohio State taking place at 7:30 p.m. ET.

As for The Duck and his pursuit of the beloved Sydney Sweeney, we will need to follow up on that one.
