Jets Issue Aaron Rodgers Announcement Ahead of Bills Clash

It's been quite a hectic week for the New York Jets, as they fired their head coach Robert Saleh and removed Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive play caller. The cloud hovering above that all week, though, was the injury status of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The veteran passer suffered a low ankle sprain in the Jets Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and while he didn't miss a snap during the game, it was clear the issue was bothering him as the game went on.

Rodgers logged limited practices on Thursday and Friday before practicing in full on Saturday, indicating he'd be ready to go when the Jets take on the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 6. Sure enough, he doesn't have an injury designation for this game, ensuring that he'll be under center in this crucial contest for New York.

Any injury Rodgers sustains is enough to make the Jets and their fans panic after his 2023 campaign came to an end after just four plays thanks to a torn Achilles. However, it doesn't appear this ankle injury is as serious as it could have been, which is a big win for New York.

Even without these injury concerns, Rodgers has endured a bit of a rocky start to the campaign. While his numbers aren't bad (1,093 passing yards, seven touchdowns, four interceptions), the Jets have only posted a 2-3 record so far this season, due in large part to their offensive struggles.

New York has a great opportunity to get back on track against Buffalo, though, as a win would allow them to jump past them into first place in the AFC East standings. With Rodgers officially good to go, the Jets will clash with the Bills on Monday Night Football at 8:15 PM EST to close out the Week 6 action.
