At one point during the offseason, the New York Knicks were thrilled with the reality they could reunite the former National Champion Villanova Wildcats together on the same NBA team.

In only lasted a few months, though.

With the trade of Karl-Anthony Towns, the Knicks parted ways with sharp-shooter and fan favorite Donte DiVincenzo. With that, the idea of reuniting the 'Nova Knicks together was dead.

One of those players believes one move that the team didn't make resulted in the reason behind the trade.

“I feel like we should blame Isaiah Hartenstein. I feel like it’s all his fault, so, thank you ‘Zay.’ Appreciate it.,” Josh Hart joked. “I think he (DiVincenzo) should be received with cheers and [an] ovation for everything he did for the team last year. He put himself and his body on the line and brought it every night. So he should get a warm welcome.”

Despite New York trying to re-sign him to a long-term contract, Hartenstein signed a three-year, $87 million contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder. That opened a need for the team at the center position.

And it is why the Knicks opted to bring in a top player like Towns.

And it's why DiVincenzo was even expendable in the first place.

Yea I'm sorry as a die hard knick fan Isiah you messed up alot where if you sign with us we would've have had to let donte go. Hey all love and respect for randle but if he didn't sign or whatever happened with the contract then he had to go to not lose him for nothing. Now if Isiah was still here we would've been in good shape as of right now I'm not a fan of you anymore you messed up a good thing. When you were here you were a fan favorite but now I don't think most gonna like you since you left stay healthy but lose everytime against us.
