College Football Fans React to Oregon's Massive Injury Loss

The No. 3 ranked Oregon Ducks are taking on the No. 2 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in what is arguably the biggest game of the college football season. It's the largest test for the Ducks this season now that they play in the Big Ten Conference.

Oregon began the year a bit cold as they struggled against the Idaho Vandals and Boise State Broncos. However, the team has turned things around with three huge wins over Oregon State, UCLA, and Michigan State.

Although the Ducks are home, the Buckeyes are the -3.5 betting favorite , according to FanDuel sportsbook. Despite that, Oregon has one of the best offenses in the league to compete with anybody and a ferocious defense that gets after the quarterback.

But that pass rush may suffer on Saturday night against Ohio State. Reports indicate that superstar edge rusher Jordan Burch is out for this contest , per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports and 247Sports. On3 Sports confirmed the details as well.

This is a worst-case scenario for Oregon, as Burch has been a monster this season. Leading up to Saturday's contest, the 23-year-old pass rusher has recorded 19 total tackles (seven for a loss), five sacks (career-high), and a fumble recovery.

Not having Burch on the field is a huge blow to the Oregon defense. Ducks fans know this and they jumped on social media to share their disdain.

"Jordan Burch being out HURTS MASSIVELY," admitted one fan .

One user claimed , "It’s gonna suck not having Jordan Burch on the field against Ohio [State]."

The rest of the defense must step up with Burch out of the lineup. The star defensive end suffered a non-contact injury during Thursday's practice and was questionable leading up to the game.
