The 2024 season was anticipated to be significant for the Florida State Seminoles. They were a top-10 team aiming to build on their 13-1 record from the previous year.

The Seminoles' fans were also hoping for revenge on the College Football Playoff committee after feeling snubbed from last year's playoff. However, the season has not unfolded as expected so far.

Florida State has had a rough start to the season, currently sitting at 1-5, with its only win being a 14-9 victory over the California Golden Bears. As a result, the Seminoles are at risk of not making a bowl game. On the "Paul Finebaum Show," the SEC Network analyst was asked if he had more confidence in the Seminoles after they made a quarterback change. Finebaum responded that he doesn't see any reason to believe the situation will improve.

"I have no reason to believe it's going to be better," Finebaum said.

The Seminoles' starting quarterback, DJ Uiagalelei, sustained an injury. Before his injury, he completed only 53.8% of his passes for 1,065 yards, four touchdowns, and six interceptions. Brock Glenn has taken over for Uiagalelei and has completed 51.1% of his passes for 228 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception in two games.

The Seminoles have a bye week before facing the Duke Blue Devils on Friday, Oct. 18. They also have two away games against top 11 teams remaining on their schedule. The Seminoles must win one of those to keep its bowl game hopes alive.
