Oregon Head Coach Dan Lanning Shares Bold Message with College Football World Following Win Over Ohio State

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning had a bold message to share following the Ducks' 32-31 win over Ohio State at Autzen Stadium on Saturday night.

After Lanning finished answering postgame questions from the media, the third-year head coach immediately set his sites toward the future, calling out all up-and-coming football players.

"If you see any good players, tell them to come here," Lanning said.

In the two years since Lanning took the reins in Eugene, Oregon has ascended to the top of the college football recruiting landscape, reeling in the ninth ranked class in the nation in 2023.

Now, the former Georgia defensive coordinator is demanding even more star power in Eugene, even though the Ducks' performance on Saturday had already sent a similar message.

Oregon outlasted the Buckeyes in a back-and-forth battle, taking control of the Big Ten title race during its first year in the conference.

Additionally, the Ducks are now 2-0 in their last two games against Ohio State.

After going winless over its first nine matchups with the Buckeyes, Oregon has shifted the power dynamic of the former Pac-12-Big Ten rivalry. Now, with a top-three win in their back pocket, the Ducks could possibly jump to the No. 1 spot in next week's AP poll.

If Lanning's message doesn't attract any new recruits, then Oregon's return to the top of the polls certainly will.

Lanning and the ascending Ducks will travel to take on Purdue next Friday. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. PST.
