Deion Sanders' Postgame Comments After Colorado-Kansas State Says It All

The Colorado Buffaloes were on the verge of pulling off a Week 7 upset against the No. 18 Kansas State Wildcats, but they fell short with just over a minute remaining.

Some fans believe the officials robbed the Buffaloes of a shot at winning after Colorado ran a fourth-down play with five yards to gain but were unsuccessful in converting.

CU quarterback Shedeur Sanders heaved a pass downfield for 6-foot-3 wide receiver Will Sheppard, and Kansas State came up with the deflection late in the fourth quarter.

It was called a turnover on downs after the Wildcats' pass breakup, but Colorado head coach Deion Sanders thinks the officiating crew got it all wrong.

He explained after the game that it "looked like pass interference," but he doesn't know what transpired at the end of the matchup.

“I don’t know what transpired at the end, looked like pass interference to me," Sanders said.

With the loss, the Buffaloes fell to 4-2 on the season. They were riding a three-game win streak heading into Week 7.

Sheppard, who was involved in the controversial pass interference play, finished the game with one touchdown on five receptions and 83 yards.

The Buffaloes' top receiver, Travis Hunter, went down with an apparent shoulder injury in the second quarter. Hunter, who's viewed as a Heisman candidate for Colorado, ended his night with three receptions and 26 yards.

Sanders made sure to share his respect for Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman during the Buffaloes' postgame press conference.

“Well coached team, very disciplined team," Sanders said. "Ran the heck out of the football, that was the goal to stop that but we didn’t do it. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Coach Klieman.”

You idiots need to listen to the entire interview before condemning him. Typical media put out only inflammatory parts out of context. CU did very well to Hang in there with a top 25 team. Almost had the victory but for a couple of mishaps, in spite of a poor run defense. Sanders almost had a perfect game with his throwing.
