The Carolina Panthers’ 36-10 loss to the Chicago Bears had more fallout than just the scoreboard. Several Panthers players, including tight end Tommy Tremble, were fined for their roles in a chaotic Week 5 game. Tremble, who was concussed during the play, is facing a $17,083 fine, adding insult to injury in what was already a difficult day for the young player.

Tremble’s fine came after a brutal collision with Bears safety Jaquan Brisker. Tremble lowered his head trying to gain extra yardage, leading to a head-on hit that resulted in concussions for both players. No flags were thrown during the play, sparking frustration among Panthers fans and raising questions about player safety. Despite Tremble’s clear injury, the NFL ruled that his use of the helmet warranted the fine. Tremble has missed practice this week and is sidelined for Week 6.

But Tremble wasn’t the only Panther to face the NFL’s disciplinary action. Cornerback Jaycee Horn was hit with an $11,817 fine for unnecessary roughness following an on-field skirmish late in the game. Horn and Bears offensive lineman Matt Pryor were both ejected after a heated exchange, marking a tough day for the Panthers’ defense. Additionally, linebacker DJ Johnson was fined $6,948 for a late hit, rounding out a costly afternoon for Carolina.

As the Panthers head into Week 6, the financial toll of these penalties is yet another hurdle for the struggling team.
