Browns Trail Eagles: 2Q Live Game Updates

    By Timm Hamm,

The Cleveland Browns (1-4) travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles (2-2) at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 6. The Browns, who had playoff aspirations this year, have yet to show any semblance of a postseason team.

Cleveland sits at No. 30 in the league in points scored, and last in yards. The once-frightening defense is currently ranked in the bottom third in points allowed at No. 23.

Injuries have decimated the Browns through the early part of their schedule and it's affected the play of quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has been on the run in every game.

The piecemeal offensive line will have a hard time containing Eagles defensive tackles Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis. The pair has and have gotten major pushes up the middle nearly every week.

Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey will also have a hard time getting Watson going early to help open up the running game for backs Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong.

The Eagles season has been a rollercoaster and they have not won two games in a row this season. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is turnover-prone, and receivers have been injured, but everyone should be back and healthy on Sunday in the passing game.

Live game updates will appear here after kickoff...

The Browns won the toss and deferred possession until the second half.

FIRST QUARTER: Eagles 0, Browns 0

The Eagles' first possession is a very quiet 3-and-out with Hurts throwing two incompletions after a Barkley five-yard run on first down.

Amari Cooper drops a first-down pass as the Browns also go 3-and-out on their first possession. Backup center Nick Harris was injured on the play and his return is questionable as he was taken to the locker room on the cart with an apparent ankle injury.

The Eagles convert a 4th-and-1 with a tush push to extend their second drive from their own 40-yard line. Jalen Hurts is 0-5 passing to start the game and they'll have to punt.

Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is questionable to return with a hamstring injury.

The Eagles and Browns exchanged a number of punts as the first quarter expired, in what's become a struggle for either team to move the ball with any effectiveness.

SECOND QUARTER: Eagles 10, Browns 3

Five plays into the second quarter, the Eagles got on the board first with a 49-yard field goal from Bradon Mann for a 3-0 lead with 13:02 left in the half.

Philly then holds the Browns to their second 3-and-out of the game.

Hurts and the Eagles found some offense on the ensuing drive with a 34-yard pass to Calcaterra and a 16-yard pass to Brown to get the Eagles inside the Browns' 40-yard line. That got the Philly offense going and resulted in a 22-yard touchdown pass from Hurts to Brown for a 10-0 lead over the Browns with 7:17 left in the half.

The Browns finally got on the board late in the first half with a Dustin Hopkins 43-yard field goal with 1:58 left in the second quarter.
