The Philadelphia Eagles overcame a sluggish first quarter to take a lead in NFL Week 6 Sunday ... but then came more sluggishness in what is now a 10-10 halftime tie.

Philly build a 10-0 lead over the Cleveland Browns in the second quarter, highlighted by Jalen Hurts’ 22-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Brown. But ...

The Eagles, continuing their pattern of slow starts, finally broke through with a 49-yard field goal by Jake Elliott early in the second quarter and then extended their lead with the Hurts-to-Brown connection.

Hurts initially struggled, completing just 2 of 8 passes for 19 yards in the first quarter, but found his rhythm during a second-quarter drive that included a crucial 34-yard pass to tight end Grant Calcaterra and a successful 4th-and-1 conversion. The 22-yard touchdown pass to Brown came with 7:17 left in the second quarter, capping off a much-improved offensive series for the Eagles.

Despite early struggles on both sides, the Browns were unable to find offensive consistency. Philadelphia's defense stepped up between the Eagles' two scoring drives, forcing a three-and-out and shifting momentum firmly in their favor.

The Eagles’ scoreless first quarter marked the continuation of a troubling trend, as they have failed to score in the opening period of any game this season. However, their defense and special teams provided key moments, setting the stage for Hurts to recover and find his groove as the game progressed.

With Hurts’ touchdown pass to Brown, the Eagles grabbed a comfortable lead, looking to build on their second-quarter success and keep momentum going for the Eagles as they look to win comfortably against the Browns.
