NFL Analyst Gives Blunt Prediction on Russell Wilson's Future With Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) is active on Sunday for the first time this season, but quarterback Justin Fields remains the starter at the moment.

Fields has 961 yards passing for five touchdowns versus an interception plus 172 yards rushing and three touchdowns amid a 3-2 start. Pittsburgh first signed Wilson in the offseason before a trade brought Fields to the Steel City.

CBS Sports NFL analyst Pete Prisco could see the Steelers going back to Wilson under one condition.

"If Justin Fields goes out there today and does not play well, I think they are going to make a change," Prisco said during CBS Sports' pregame show on Sunday .

Pittsburgh visits the Las Vegas Raiders (2-3) at 3:05 p.m. ET on Sunday as Fields looks to help the Steelers bounce back from a 20-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys (3-2) in Week 5.

The Steelers have Wilson activated as the second quarterback on the depth chart after he returned to a full week of practice.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged it's a work in progress for Wilson. The nine-time Pro Bowler sustained a calf injury during training camp and reaggravated it before Week 1.

"He's proven his health now," Tomlin told reporters on October 11 . "It's just a matter of knocking the rust off."
