Detroit Lions star pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson was carted off the field during his team's dominant performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Hutchinson suffered the injury while sacking Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. It became quickly evident that the former No. 2 overall pick was in severe pain and the cart came out quickly after. Both teams gathered on the field to show support for Hutchinson.

The Fox broadcast with Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt refused to show the replay after returning from a break.

"It's a heartbreaking scene here in Arlington. We're not going to show you the replay because we saw it in the break," Burkhardt said. "Trust me, you don't want to see it. Aidan Hutchinson's leg went a very funny way. Obviously major concern for him down the field. If you can read lips, it sounds like he's saying he broke it. Just terrible."

Brady added: "Heartbreaking to watch and see. Everything seems to be going your way and then you see such a difficult injury to this player who defines what your defense it about. Pretty deflating for everybody. I can only imagine how the team feels."

Hutchinson entered the game with an NFL-high 6.5 sacks through four games played. The NFL Players Association quickly put out a message of support for the Lions' star.

"Prayers up for Hutch," the post read .

Hutchinson has solidified his reputation as one of the NFL’s top pass-rushers. Before the injury setback, he was on track for a new career high, having amassed 21 sacks over his first two seasons. Hutchinson was a Pro Bowler last season.
