The Los Angeles Rams are currently on their bye week and are not scheduled to take the field until their Week 7 showdown against the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 20.

This means that star quarterback Matthew Stafford has a bit of time on his hands. On Sunday, the one-time Super Bowl winner decided to take a significant step in what appears to be what Stafford hopes to embark on once his NFL career comes to an end.

This came in the form of a guest appearance on a couple of shows on Fox Sports. The 36-year-old came in as a co-host for "Fox NFL Kickoff" and "Fox NFL Sunday" as Stafford showed off his skills behind the mic.

Fox Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews caught wind of Stafford's appearance on the network and she just had to give the Rams star a special shoutout.

After working out her attempt to video Stafford's TV spot using her phone, Andrews sent a six-word message of support for the two-time Pro Bowl QB.

"You look great. Good job, bud," Andrews said.

Andrews did admit that it wasn't the best of videos from her end as she did her best to try and capture Stafford's moment on film. Nevertheless, there's nothing but love from the renowned sportscaster here as she praised Stafford, who could soon be a colleague of hers on Fox Sports.

At this point, however, Stafford is still focused on doing everything he can for the Rams. The former No. 1 overall pick is no spring chicken, though, and it won't be long before he calls time on his decorated 20-year NFL career.

It now appears that Stafford has his sights set on sportscasting once he hangs up his cleats.
