For the third time in the 2024 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys played in front of their home crowd at AT&T Stadium. And, for the third time this season, the Cowboys suffered an ugly loss in Arlington as the Detroit Lions came to town and dominated Jerry Jones' squad 47-9 in Week 6.

It was easily the ugliest outing Dallas has put up all season, failing to get into the end zone for the first time in 2024 and allowing the Lions to do, basically, whatever they wanted on both sides of the ball. The Cowboys allowed nearly 500 yards of offense and turned the ball over five times.

According to ESPN Stats & Info on X, the 38-point loss marks Dallas' largest at home since Jones bought the team in 1989.

Not only that but over the Cowboys' last four home games, dating back to the Wild Card round in last season's playoffs, they have allowed 167 points, the third-most points allowed in a four-game home span in NFL history. Those games include the Lions (47), Baltimore Ravens (28), New Orleans Saints (44) and the Green Bay Packers (48).

It's also important to note that all of this happened on Jones' 82nd birthday.

Despite it being a big day for Jerry, many NFL fans did not hold back when they discovered the unfortunate history that was made against the Lions, leaving their thoughts about Jones on social media.

"The Dallas Cowboys layed multiple eggs today," one fan said.

"Someone who is 82 years old shouldn’t be in charge of a NFL team."

    "Happy Birthday (sell the team)"

    "Good"

"Jerry Jones is a joke. Great businessman. [Bad] NFL owner if winning is the objective," added another.

After winning three Super Bowls in four seasons in the early 1990s, Jones and the Cowboys have failed to make any real noise in the postseason. Since the 1995 season, Dallas has been unable to make it past the divisional round. Even when they are heavy favorites in the playoffs, Jerry's team finds a way to blow it. It was like this with former quarterback Tony Romo, and it has been the same with Dak Prescott.
