The return of Donte DiVincenzo to Madison Square Garden as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves was expected to be a casual response considering the lowly preseason contest the matchup was taking place in.

It certainly didn't end that way.

Just weeks after being involved in the trade that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks, the former sharp-shooter in DiVincenzo got into it during Sunday's preseason contest with some coaches on the Knicks bench.

So much so that even head coach Tom Thibodeau was dropped into an argument between the coaching staff and the newest Timberwolf.

"Thank you for the trade Thibs," DiVincenzo was heard saying. "Thank you for the trade… that’s what happens when they let you run the show. That’s what happens when they let you run the show.”

DiVincenzo later cleared up that he was speaking to the Knicks assistant coach and father of star guard Jalen Brunson instead of Thibodeau himself.

Whatever the case, the usually mild-mannered shooting guard is pissed off with how his time ended with the Knicks. And he isn't afraid to get the conversation going as to what led to his departure.

It also is important to point out that DiVincenzo's thoughts of Brunson's father do not reflect the same of the player.

"My relationship with Jalen – that’s my brother, my best friend," DiVincenzo said. "That’s a separate relationship. I said I’ll talk about that privately (with Rick) and figure that out."
