NFL scouts have debated whether Colorado star Travis Hunter will play wide receiver or cornerback in the league next season.

One analyst suggests it could be a little bit of both.

CBS Sports analyst Mike Renner predicted that Hunter would be taken No. 1 overall in next year's NFL Draft, going to the New England Patriots with the chance to make an impact on both sides of the ball. Hunter has been a regular at both cornerback and receiver for the Buffaloes, earning Heisman Trophy buzz and leading the team to a 4-2 overall record.

Renner suggested that Hunter would be a Top 10 pick at either individual position and will likely need to settle on one primary position in the NFL, but could spend some time at both.

"While he won't play both full time in the NFL like he does at Colorado, it's not crazy to think he can't moonlight on the opposite side of the ball in high-leverage situations," Renner wrote. "Drafting two players for the price of one makes Hunter an easy pick at the top of the draft."

Hunter's college coach could be helpful in that plan. Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders was one of the NFL's top cornerbacks during his 14 NFL seasons but also spent significant time at wide receiver. Sanders made 60 career receptions for 784 yards with three touchdowns.

NFL scouts have shared differing ideas on where Hunter will line up in the NFL. One unnamed AFC scout told ESPN that Hunter may have more value on offense in today's offense-oriented league, while an NFC scout said his "upside at corner is tremendous."

"You also have to remember, he's not even practicing that much throughout the week because they are saving him for Saturdays," the NFC scout said of Hunter's time at Colorado. "Imagine where he'd be if he was working at it on a day-to-day basis.”
