Angel Reese's Wordless Post Leaves Fans Confused

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese made a significant impact during her rookie season in the WNBA.

Known for her dominant college career at Louisiana State, Reese brought her aggressive rebounding, high motor and fiery competitiveness to the professional stage. Her popularity also helped the Sky gain more fans and national attention.

The 22-year-old Reese averaged an impressive double-double of 13.6 points and a league-best 13.1 rebounds per game. She, however, suffered a wrist injury late in the season, forcing her to sit out their last six outings.

Despite Reese's solid play, the Sky missed the playoffs after finishing with a 13-27 win-loss card.

Safe to presume, Reese, who was the runner-up to Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark for the Rookie of the Year award, is eager to surpass her production and personal feats in her second year in Windy City.

On Sunday, she posted a message on X containing only three emojis: A pawn, a no symbol, and a checkered flag.

The wordless tweet, which has 17,000 views, as of writing, left fans confused.

"What this mean," said one fan.

"For???" asked another fan.

"CHESS NOT CHECKERS," deciphered an X user.

"We puttin in work early this morning," commented a fan.

"I’m normally a hater but this is funny," tweeted another fan.

Reese is still recuperating after undergoing wrist surgery. Early this month, she reported on X that her hand brace was finally removed.

She's been busy with her social life in recent weeks, attending numerous events, including several games in the NFL.
