Barack Obama Gives Ultimate Praise to Warriors' Stephen Curry

Barack Obama is a very busy man. Between campaigning for Kamala Harris, working on voter registration, and helping coordinate disaster relief in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia, he certainly has his hands full, but like most sports fans, he can take a second to talk ball.

As a part of Netflix's promotions for Starting 5, Obama offered his all-time lineup and included two Golden State Warriors.

According to the former president, Stephen Curry, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Hakeem Olajuwon would be an unbeatable starting five.

"I want a little shooting and a little flair, I'm going to put my friend Steph Curry into the mix," explained Obama. "We're in the three-point era, and he is the greatest shooter of all time, bar none."

He did offer that Curry would play off-ball in his dream lineup, and LeBron James would be "point forward," and play a similar role to his Olympic assignment, acting as a distributor while Curry and Durant get open to knock down shots.

"I've got to go with Kevin Durant," said Obama regarding the last spot on his roster, although he admitted that it was a tough choice. "Who may be the most efficient, effective scorer in the history of basketball."

The criteria for his roster was winning, of course, but also a team that he would enjoy watching play. He admits that Magic Johnson nearly made the cut, but he opted for the proven duo of James and Curry.

Obama hosted Curry and the Warriors after they won the Finals in 2015 in the White House, and again in 2019 after Donald Trump and Curry got into a public dispute, resulting in their traditional invite being rescinded.
