Sirianni Shame: Thin-Skinned Eagles' Coach Reacts to Fans Booing

Philadelphia Eagles fans once booed Santa Claus and cheered Michael Irvin's career-ending neck injury. So if Nick Sirianni can't take some good ol' South Philly jeering, he might not be the right man for the job after all.

Coming off a Bye, the Eagles slogged their way through an uninspired, 20-16, victory over one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns and grossly overpaid quarterback Deshaun Watson are now the first team since 2014 to not score 20 points in any of their first six games. The Browns are offensively punch-less that their lone touchdown Sunday came on the return of a blocked field goal.

It was the definition of an ugly win. Just two removed from playing in a Super Bowl and in a season in which the defending NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys are trending downward, fans expect more. They demand more.

They have grown tired of quarterback Jalen Hurts' regression and a defense - against standard NFL offenses, anyway - consistently gouged in the passing game.

During Sunday's win Eagles fans booed their team's underwhelming performance and a couple of "Fire Sirianni!" chants broke out. Eagles coaches are notoriously tough guys with narrow focus ... that connect with the DNA of Philly.

Buck Shaw. Buddy Ryan. Andy Reid. Doug Pederson. But how did thin-skinned Siranni respond to the fans airing their opinion? By verbally jousting with his customers.

"We don't necessarily like it," Sirianni said of the booing. "It's not productive for anybody."

You want unproductive? Try a head coach during a game walking near the stands to argue with fans.

Then, in a blatant attempt to dilute the media venom that would surely be spewed his direction, Sirianni had the audacity to show up to the post-game press conference with his three children in tow.
