With Halloween fast approaching, college football is ripe with coaches who are fighting to keep their jobs. There are no shortage of familiar names on the hot seat with the college football carousel just a few months away from heating up.

The Auburn Tigers could look to make a change from Hugh Freeze if things don't improve. USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley is another name to watch.

There is one SEC coach that has been a permanent fixture in hot seat rumors over the last year and even the team's recent jolt of energy may not be enough.

The Florida Gators have a $50 million problem with Billy Napier after signing him to a seven-year, $50 million deal in 2021, per 0n3.com .

Napier's future at Florida appears to be very much in doubt. ESPN's Chris Low reported that Napier's buyout with the Gators is about $26 million.

The Gators have looked better over the last two weeks against the Tennessee Volunteers and UCF Knights, but USA Today's Patrick Conn still has Napier listed as one of the top coaches on the hot seat.

"There was a moment or two where I thought that there was a path for William Napier to survive the 2024 season," Conn wrote on Oct. 13. "That completely went out the window when the Florida Gators head coach went ultra-conservative and played for overtime.

"Fortune favors the bold and when the Gators had a chance to bury the Tennessee Vols in Knoxville, the embattled head coach had second thoughts about going for two with just 29 seconds remaining."

There are plenty of Gators fans that agree, judging by some recent X posts.

"Billy Napier backed out of going for two and the win… smh I guess his philosophy has changed since he got to Florida," one fan wrote , citing Napier's previous "scared money don't make money" comments.
