Notre Dame has found its quarterback for the 2025 class with the announcement that Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick standout signal caller Blake Hebert had committed to the Fighting Irish. It's the second big flip of the day for Notre Dame, who flipped Hebert from Clemson.

Herbert isn't a new name for Notre Dame. When the Irish first started putting the 2025 quarterback board together they made him a very early priority. Hebert visited Notre Dame in the winter of 2023, and the Irish staff made an early push for him, but Herbert ultimately picked Clemson.

Notre Dame then moved onto other quarterbacks, including Deuce Knight , who eventually committed to the Irish. When Knight flipped to Auburn, Notre Dame quickly went back to work, and Hebert was clearly a player the staff remained very, very high on throughout the process. Notre Dame had two coaches out to see Hebert during the bye week, and the staff has been making a hard push for him in recent weeks.

Hebert is a 6-3, 215-pound quarterback with a strong arm, but he's also athletic. He's a pocket passer first, but he is mobile and can do damage with his legs as well. His ability to sit in the pocket and attack down the field with power is important, but he has a clean release and throws an accurate ball as well. He's a strong fit for what Notre Dame likes to do offensively, which is why he became the top priority once Knight flipped. Although he lacks Knight's high upside, Hebert is actually the better system fit for what Denbrock likes to do, which is a pass first, run second type of offense for his quarterbacks.

The Connecticut quarterback previously played high school at Lawrence (Mass.) Central Catholic. He transferred to Brunswick School for the 2024 season. He is teammates with a pair of Notre Dame commits in the 2025 class in offensive lineman Matty Augustine and safety Ethan Long .

Hebert had offers from Penn State, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Auburn, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Rutgers and Minnesota along with the Irish and Clemson.
