Fans Annoyed With MLB's Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Decision During Yankees-Guardians

To start the 2024 American League Championship Series (ALCS), the New York Yankees hosted the Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium for Game 1.

As many know by now, the star couple of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift made an appearance in Bronx, NY, to watch the game from a suite during the Chiefs' bye week.

Kelce has been a notable supporter of the Guardians throughout his NFL career. He even threw the first pitch during a Cleveland game back in April 2023. The now 35-year-old grew up in Westlake, Ohio, right down the road from Cleveland, which explains his fandom and the decision to attend the game.

TBS broadcast the game nationally and consistently showed the popular duo cheering on from their suite. This shouldn't come as a surprise to some fans, as Swift and Kelce are usually the center of attention during their public appearances. Even in Kansas City games, the NFL constantly shows Swift supporting her boyfriend from her usual suite at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

But MLB fans are not used to all the attention the "Bad Blood" singer attracts on television, and some certainly have not enjoyed seeing the couple take over the broadcast. These fans took to social media to leave their complaints.

"TBS Stop showing Taylor Swift. We don’t give a damn!" one fan said.

"Notice how mlb fans don’t care that Taylor Swift is on their screen."

Swift and Kelce made their way to the New York/New Jersey area one day after the Chiefs' "Monday Night Football" win over the New Orleans Saints last week. Kelce was seen a few days later on what appeared to be a movie set, where he may have been filming the upcoming Adam Sandler sequel "Happy Gilmore 2."

Over the weekend, Swift and Kelce were spotted on a double date with popular Hollywood figures Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively in SoHo, NYC. The couple has certainly had an eventful bye week, all while Swift prepares for the return of "The Eras Tour" on Oct. 18 in Miami, Florida.
