Despite a strong showing from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets dropped their third consecutive game after losing to the Buffalo Bills, 23-20, on Monday.

Bills kicker Tyler Bass completed the go-ahead 22-yard field goal with less than four minutes left, while cornerback Taron Johnson made a key interception against Rodgers in the Jets' last-gasp drive to seal the win.

The Bills returned to the win column after back-to-back defeats and improved to 4-2. The Jets, on the other hand, dropped to 2-4.

The 40-year-old Rodgers went 23-of-35 for a season-high 294 yards with two touchdowns, including a 52-yard Hail Mary throw to wide receiver Allen Lazard to close out the first half.

His efforts, however, weren't enough to close out the Bills, who also had a stellar output from quarterback Josh Allen.

The Jets fell short in their first game under interim coach Jeff Ulbrich, who replaced Robert Saleh. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, meanwhile, was demoted in favor of passing coordinator Todd Downing.

Rodgers gave a blunt remark amid their three-game skid and coaching changes.

"Yeah, it was a weird week," said the four-time MVP in a report by the Associated Press .

He also didn't hide his frustration after coming up empty yet again.

“I thought we were going to have a big night on offense,” added Rodgers, who slammed the officiating during his postgame media conference.

According to ESPN's Rich Cimini , Rodgers led a players-only meeting after Saleh got fired and stressed the importance of accountability. It was the first time since 1975 that the Jets axed a coach in the middle of the season.

The Jets will look to end their losing streak when they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
