Alabama's Jalen Milroe Predicted to Replace Disappointing Ex-No. 1 Pick NFL QB

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe is among the prospects already jockeying for position in the 2025 NFL draft. Milroe is competing against other quarterbacks like Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders, Georgia Bulldogs signal-caller Carson Beck and Texas Longhorns standout Quinn Ewers.

The Crimson Tide star is a bit of a polarizing prospect with some NFL mock drafts leaving the playmaker outside of the first round. Not everyone sees things the same way as Milroe also has plenty of supporters.

Through Bama's first six games, Milroe has thrown for 1,483 yards , 12 touchdowns and 4 interceptions while completing an impressive 72.7% of his passes. Milroe is also a major threat with his legs adding 77 carries for 319 yards and 11 TDs on the ground.

One team potentially in the market for a new quarterback is the Carolina Panthers. NFLTradeRumors.Co's Ethan Woodie presents an interesting scenario of Milroe once again replacing Bryce Young, just as the star did at Alabama.

The difference is that the Panthers benched Young early in his second NFL season. It appears Carolina has already given up on the former Crimson Tide star despite Young being the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL draft. Woodie has the Panthers snagging Milroe with the No. 6 pick in the his latest NFL mock draft.

"It’s ironic that in this scenario Milroe replaces Bryce Young at Alabama, then again in Carolina," Woodie detailed on Oct. 11. "The Panthers are, unfortunately, back in the quarterback market, and Milroe is the top passer on my board.

"He’s always had an ideal frame, arm talent and athleticism, but this season he’s putting it all together. Milroe’s week-to-week consistency is a big improvement from last season, as is his accuracy and playmaking. He’s cut down on the sacks, as well."
