The New York Jets snagged wide receiver Davante Adams in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday in a deal that Pat McAfee may have seen coming.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported just after 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday that the teams had completed the deal, which included a conditional third-round pick as compensation for Adams.

Just a little more than an hour before Rapoport broke the news, McAfee took to social media to share a cryptic post that many took as an early indicator of the trade.

"Holy [expletive]…" McAfee shared in a post on X , following it up with a trio of open-eyes emoji.

The post drew some viral interest, with some speculating that McAfee had advance notice that the deal was going down.

"What?? Davante Adams is going to the #Jets," posted Green Bay Packers lineman David Bakhtiari, a former teammate of both Rodgers and Adams.

McAfee has a close relationship with Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is a regular guest on the "Pat McAfee Show." McAfee later seemed to confirm that his post was about the yet-to-be-announced trade, quoting it in a follow-up post saying Rodgers will be a guest on Tuesday's show, joining at 1:10 p.m. ET.

Adams and Rodgers had been teammates on the Green Bay Packers and the All-Pro wide receiver had stated a preference to rejoin Rodgers on the Jets, NFL.com reporter Bobby Kownack noted .
