Travis Hunter Gets Significant Injury Update From Sanders

    By Dan Lyons,

Travis Hunter left Colorado’s loss to Kansas State last Saturday in the second quarter with an apparent shoulder injury . His status is crucial to Colorado’s success on both sides of the ball. The Buffaloes lost multiple wide receivers to injury during the 31-28 loss to the Wildcats, and were short-handed as Shedeur Sanders tried to bring the team back for one final score after a wild fourth quarter that saw both teams trade the lead in the final few minutes of the game. Hunter’s presence is also critical for the defense, which struggled against Kansas State’s offense, and now has to face off against one of the Big 12’s top wide receivers.

Tetairoa McMillan, an all-conference talent who put ip 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns a year ago, is off to another tremendous start this year, with over 700 yards for the 3-3 Wildcats. Deion Sanders called him “one of the best receivers in the nation” and “certainly a pro” during his press conference Tuesday.

Luckily for Colorado, it appears that it will have its shutdown corner back for the matchup.

“Travis should play for certain on Saturday,” Sanders said, per 247Sports’ Adam Munsterteiger .

Hunter has been dynamic on both ends of the ball for Colorado this season, with 587 yards and six touchdowns as wide receiver and a pair of interceptions and one game-sealing forced fumble on defense .

Arizona enters Saturday’s game as a slight favorite , but the Hunter news gives Colorado football a huge lift entering the important Big 12 contest.
