Bills Strike Blockbuster Trade for Browns Pro Bowl WR

Within the same business day, Davante Adams has been traded to the New York Jets, and now, Amari Cooper is being traded to the Buffalo Bills.

Jordan Schultz, insider for FOX Sports NFL, was first with reports of the deal. "BREAKING: #Browns trading WR Amari Cooper to #Bills, sources tell @NFLonFOX," Schultz tweeted on October 15 .

Cooper is a five-time Pro Bowl recipient, earning the honors as recently as last season. Both he and the Cleveland Browns offense were off to a slow start this year, which explains a change of scenery for the 30-year-old veteran. Cooper has appeared in all six games this season, catching 24 of 53 targets for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns.

"Full trade, per multiple sources: Browns are getting a 3rd round and the Bills get Amari Cooper," Schultz continued in a separate tweet . "The two teams are going to make a swap of late picks. Bills get a 6th, Browns get a 7th."

Cooper, a 10-year veteran, will have the opportunity for a bigger role and more production in high-power Bills' offense. Cleveland is home to the NFL's third-worst scoring offense at 15.8 points per game, and third-worst passing game with 134.3 yards on average, according to ESPN.com . Buffalo ranks 5th and 22nd in those areas, respectively, so they too, have room to grow.

Perhaps the deal for Cooper can help take a 4-2 Bills team over the top, and solidify their passing game. Buffalo's got the 1-4 Tennessee Titans on tap in Week 7. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM EST.
