Jovantae Barnes talks about that devastating loss to Texas

Oklahoma’s Jovantae Barnes spoke to the media this week about the team’s mood after the loss and supporting his rookie quarterback.

What was the mood like with the team today after Saturday?

Jovantae: I mean obviously the outcome isn't what we wanted but on to the next game. We can't dwell on the moment, can't stay on that. Obviously, it's not what we wanted but we just have to have a positive mindset. I'm just trying to tell my guys that it starts with us at practice and the little details. I think we did a good job today with just going in there and not dropping too many balls.

How do you guys support a young freshman quarterback like Mike when the offense is kind of in a funk the way it is?

Jovantae: Make sure he still has that confidence and 100% he still has that. Not one time have I seen Mike with his head down. I mean he's a competitor so he's going to be hard on himself but I think he's been doing a great job. We have a long season and we have so many games to play. He’s a competitor and he wants to do better. Everybody wants to do better. Make sure he just keeps going and keeps that confidence.
