No Room for Crying with Warriors?

    By Lance Roberson,

The Golden State Warriors made a plethora of moves in the summer. Although Mike Dunleavy Jr. didn't swing for the fences regarding a big name or at least a pseudo-All-Star, the Warriors signed players worthy of Steve Kerr's rotation. However, according to Stephen Curry, not all players will like their ultimate role once the 2024-25 season commences.

“I don’t think you can avoid feelings getting hurt, which is not a bad thing, though. It’s a part of the NBA," Curry said in pregame media availability at the Crypto.com Arena.

Once Klay Thompson opted to sign with the Dallas Mavericks via a sign-and-trade, the Warriors went to work attempting to fill the void of a four-time NBA champion. Although they'll never replace the person , and possibly the player, Buddy Hield, De'Anthony Melton, and Kyle Anderson aren't bad starts regarding beefing up the Warriors' rotation.

Aside from Curry, Hield, as the best shooter on Golden State, has his spot secured in the lineup. Furthermore, De'Anthony Melton's ball control and scrappy effort cater to what Kerr wants in a player. Lastly, Anderson's defensive IQ and seemingly improved offense will earn him significant minutes on a team needing defensive versatility.

Who will have their feelings hurt?

Moses Moody, a capable shooter in a contract year, could fall to the end of the bench if not careful. Gary Payton II is another candidate for a player to lose his spot in the rotation. Moreover, Payton is prone to injury, which puts him out of running for coveted minutes by default.

Ultimately, if the Warriors win, losing minutes shouldn't hurt as much.
