Patriots Owner Confirms What Tom Brady Said About Bill Belichick

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will be forever linked by their greatness.

The partnership between the winningest quarterback in NFL history and one of the greatest head coaches of all time produced 17 AFC East titles and six Super Bowl wins.

In a shocking end to that glorious era in New England, Brady left the Patriots in 2020 because of Belichick, he revealed in the documentary "The Dynasty," which aired in February.

"Me and coach Belichick, we did what we loved and competed for 20 years together," Brady said in the documentary, as transcribed by The Athletic . "But I wasn't going to sign another contract [in New England] even if I wanted to play until [I was] 50. Based on how things had gone, I wasn't going to sign up for more of it."

Patriots owner Robert Kraft confirmed what Brady said about Belichick when he appeared on "The Breakfast Club" on Friday.

Kraft recalled Brady cried when he broke the news to him he was leaving the Patriots.

“I understood it. He lived under an arrangement that was very difficult for him the last decade," Kraft said on "The Breakfast Club," alluding to Brady and Belichick's fractured relationship. "He’s an amazing human being. He’s part of my family to this day, and I love him dearly.”

Brady went on to win one more Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, proving he was not just a product of Belichick's system.

On the other hand, Belichick never won another Super Bowl after Brady left the Patriots. Kraft eventually fired him last year after the Patriots finished with a 4-13 record.

Brady and Belichick reunited in May in the Netflix's special "The Roast of Tom Brady."
