Week 7 of college football had its fair share of highly entertaining games. One of the weekend's top games was the showdown between the Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes in Eugene.

The game was back and forth for four quarters, with neither team's offense slowing down. The most points a team led by at one point came in the second quarter as Ohio State got off to a 14-6 lead.

Oregon kicker Atticus Sappington made what would be a decisive field goal with 1:47 left in the game to give the Ducks a 32-31 lead. Ohio State's final drive of the game ended with quarterback Will Howard thinking he had more time on the clock and sliding in bounds as the clock hit zeroes.

On a recent episode of the " College GameDay Podcast ," Rece Davis, Pete Thamel, and Ryan McGee broke down the best games from the weekend. Davis was thoroughly impressed with Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel's play, calling the player "elite." Davis also predicted a record-breaking season for Gabriel in 2024.

"...Will Howard's a very good college player," Davis said. "Big, strong, throwing the ball well the other night. I think Dillon Gabriel is elite. I mean, he may wind up as the all-time leading passer in the history of college football, depending on how the rest of the season goes. He may top every record book."

Gabriel ended the game with 341 passing yards, 32 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns. Following Week 7, Gabriel has 1,790 passing yards, 17 total touchdowns, and three interceptions.

The Oregon quarterback is chasing history this season and is currently third on college football's all-time career passing yards list. Gabriel has 16,655 career passing yards and is behind former Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang (17,072) and former Houston Cougars quarterback Case Keenum (19,217).

The Ducks travel to West Lafayette to face the Purdue Boilermakers in Week 8. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
