Chiefs' Andy Reid On Possible Reciever Trade: 'Not Telling You Guys Can't Come In!'

The Kansas City Chiefs sit nicely at 5-0 as they delve into their bye week, but the franchise has seen two other AFC teams, the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, make trades for wide receivers.

Davante Adams reunited with Aaron Rodgers in New York from the Las Vegas Raiders, and Amari Cooper swapped Cleveland for Buffalo. Those moves were made with Super Bowl intentions, but could the Chiefs make a similar move?

Head coach Andy Reid stated that offensive familiarity is what he's after when discussing players, but didn't rule out the possibility of someone new walking through the doors.

“I think that helped Juju [Smith-Schuster] and his situation coming back in and jumping in," Reid said . "It helped Mecole [Hardman] coming back. But I'm not telling [you] other guys can't come in and help out, so I don't think that's an issue. It's just going to take him a little bit longer to figure it out and get on the same page with Pat [Mahomes] and all those things.”

With Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice lost for the season, the Chiefs could be active before the trade deadline.

Ranked 15th for scoring (23.6 points per game), there is an avenue to suggest that adding another weapon for Patrick Mahomes is viable.

Smith-Schuster and Travis Kelce stepped up against the New Orleans Saints and were supported by Kareem Hunt in the run game, but can that trio be the reason the Chiefs claim a third successive Super Bowl?

Color us skeptical. That might be just reason enough for Kansas City to follow in New York and Buffalo's footsteps and acquire a new weapon for its offense.
