College football teams faking injuries to give their team a breather or an extra timeout when they don't have one has been an issue in the sport for many years. However, this season, it seems to be even more prevalent.

The Ole Miss Rebels have become the center of the discussion, although they are far from the only team accused of this behavior. There have been plays against the Kentucky Wildcats, South Carolina Gamecocks and LSU Tigers where coaches or players have been seen telling another Ole Miss player to go down so the team is awarded an injury timeout.

South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer addressed the issue after their game against Ole Miss, saying, "It's fascinating to me to see how many injuries occur for them after the opposing offense makes a first down or makes a big play."

When asked about it before the game, LSU head coach Brian Kelly said he would let the SEC handle it if it were happening.

On the "Paul Finebaum Show," the SEC Network analyst was asked about his thoughts on the issue. He thinks it needs to stop.

"It is absurd," Finebaum said. "I know that finally, there's attention being paid to it. But it has to be put to an end. I feel like we're getting closer to that moment."

Former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban addressed the issue on Saturday's "College GameDay." Saban said it hurts the integrity of the game. He also believes players aren't doing it on their own and only when directed to by coaches to slow the game down.

As of now, no solution is in place to end the epidemic. However, many college football fans hope that one is on the horizon.
