Even in the middle of the WNBA Finals, the buzz in women's basketball was focused on another league on Wednesday afternoon.

Angel Reese did not hold back her thoughts on social media after TNT Sports announced its multiyear media rights agreement with Unrivaled, a new, 3-on-3 women's basketball league set to begin Jan. 17, 2025.

"soooo unrivaled yessss!" Reese wrote on X in response to the news.

As part of the media package, primetime games will air on TNT on Mondays and Fridays, and on TruTV on Saturdays. More than 45 games will air during the 2025 season, according to Bleacher Report.

Reese, a WNBA All-Star during her rookie year with the Chicago Sky, announced on July 24 that she will play on an Unrivaled team in Miami.

“Being able to be in Miami from January to March, not having to go overseas,” Reese explained to reporters about her decision to join Unrivaled. “Nobody wants to go overseas."

"Being able to make six figures within three months," she added. "Being able to be housed in Miami, just being able to get better, being able to know two great players that are starting something, I think it’s amazing.”

The pair of players she referenced were Unrivaled co-founders and WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. They officially founded the league in July 2023, committing ownership equity to the league's first 30 players and creating the league with the highest average salary in women's sports history.

Securing media partners was an easier task following the historic 2024 WNBA regular season. The league drew in a record 54 million unique viewers, boasting 22 regular-season broadcasts that averaged over 1 million viewers.

Stewart's New York Liberty and Collier's Minnesota Lynx are currently facing each other in the WNBA Finals. The series is tied 1-1 heading into Wednesday night's Game 3 in Minneapolis.
