Dan Lanning set social media on fire after Oregon upset Ohio State in a 32-31 victory in Eugene, OR. He intentionally placed 12 defenders on the field late in the game, giving his team a flag that gave Ohio State five yards in exchange for four seconds on the game clock.

The intentional flag led to Oregon upsetting the No. 2-ranked team in the nation. Oregon then swapped ranking with the Buckeyes, as the Ducks are now ranked No. 2 with Ohio State being ranked No. 3.

A controversial play call like the one Lanning made, as mentioned, set social media on fire and drew mixed opinions.

Some coaches raved about Lanning's call, claiming it was smart, while other coaches and media members believe things should be changed as more coaches will begin to do that late in games.

Evidently, it was a good trick pulled at the right time from Lanning, and now programs won't be able to do it. The NCAA is looking into the play, and change will likely be struck.

Recently Urban Meyer took to "The Triple Option" to make his opinion on the matter known.

"If that's true, then for 38 years of my career, I've been playing checkers," Meyer claimed. "I'll be honest, that never even crossed my mind."

Meyer continued to praise how gutty and smart the call was at that time, considering the situation with the Buckeyes being in the Ducks' territory, bordering field goal range.

Lanning certainly had a trick up his sleeve, and it'll be remembered for a long time, but action will certainly be taken the next time a coach tries to take a page out of Oregon's book.

Needless to say, the top-three-ranked matchup between the Ducks and Ohio State was electric and they're setting up for a potential Big Ten rivalry, even though it's early in the new-look conference.

Meyer, himself, had a long head coaching career, and he was incredibly complimentary of Lanning and doing something he had never thought of.

Rule has already been modified. Next problem to correct, "Lame Kiffin" time outs. Fake injuries for those who don't know.
