One of the biggest college football games of the 2024 season will take place in Week 8.

No. 1 Texas will host No. 5 Georgia in front of what is expected to be a sold out crowd at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Oct. 19. The Longhorns enter the anticipated SEC matchup with an undefeated record and have dominated all of their opponents.

The Bulldogs suffered a heartbreaking loss to Alabama, 41-34, on Sept. 28 but have since regained their footing and look to be the toughest team Texas will face this season.

The outcome of this game will have major SEC title and College Football Playoff implications. College football analyst Greg McElroy believes the matchup will come down to which team can hold their own in the trenches, followed by offensive weapons.

"It's line of scrimmage and then weapons," McElroy said when asked what will determine the winner on Saturday. "The first thing you got to assess is can Texas block them. We know that Georgia's got elite skill, really good players on the perimeter of their defense that can create issues."

McElroy believes Texas holds the advantage in this particular matchup. "I actually think Texas is going to fare pretty well right there. I love their offensive line, I think they've got a lot of experience and talent up front protecting Quinn Ewers."

ESPN currently lists Texas as the 5-point favorite over Georgia, but it sounds like McElroy feels the Longhorns could win by more. "I'm leaning pretty heavily in favor of Texas at the moment. I think Georgia is going to have to have a remarkably good performance from their quarterback and frankly I haven't seen that from Carson Beck up at this point of the season."

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday.
