Aaron Rodgers Makes Bold Davante Adams Claim

    By Collin Loring,

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams are reunited, after the New York Jets pulled the trigger on a trade for the veteran wide receiver. It cost them a 2025 conditional third-round pick, that could end up a second-rounder based on performance.

It's another gamble for a franchise that's already pulled the plug on their second-year head coach. But a ringing endorsement from Rodgers should inspire optimism for the Jets and their fans, as everyone awaits their on-field reunion.

"He's staying with me for the short term, so went right into some of the signals, and he was about 95%," Rodgers told reporters on Oct. 16 . "And he knows the original, to the second iteration, to the third, and on down. His knowledge of the game is pretty extensive. Obviously, he looks like he's dranken the elixir from the fountain of youth as I watched some of his clips."

If he does have access to the "elixir from the fountain of youth," perhaps Adams will share some with his 40-year-old quarterback. Or, perhaps a connection that's netted over 7,500 yards and 67 touchdowns will yield some vintage Rodgers performances.

Adams arrives in New York amid a disappointing start to the season, as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders. He's appeared in just three of six games in 2024, catching 18-of-27 targets for 209 yards and one touchdown.

But a receiver of his caliber is rarely available midseason. Rodgers was hopeful the Jets would pull off a deal, but was prepared for the alternate outcome.

"I knew there was gonna be a lot more teams interested," Rodgers continued . "I think it came down to where he wanted to be, and this was at the top of his list."

Adams missed the last three games with a hamstring injury, but is on track to make his Jets debut in their Week 7 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The matchup will be featured on Sunday Night Football. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:20 pm EST.

Rodgers and Adams always lost every big game (at home) and did nothing but underachieve and frustrate every time the playoffs came around. Can't wait to see them bomb again with the idiot Jets, they are both getting a lot older now too. These two narcissistic divas deserve each other, this is going to be hilarious. Did they buy Aaron a new pony yet?

Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson together if the O-line protects Rogers will be dynamic. Pitt can really get after the QB they have to keep TJ Watt and gang off of Rogers will be key
