Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields seems to have lost his starting job despite doing just about everything imaginable to keep it across six starts to begin the season.

Russell Wilson , now healthy after a calf strain sidelined him for the first month and a half of the campaign, has assumed QB1 duties in practice.

"The Steelers plan to give Russell Wilson first-team reps in practice this week, putting him in line to make his season debut and start Sunday night against the [New York] Jets ," Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported . "Pittsburgh is 4-2 with Justin Fields, but Wilson’s calf is fully healed and now he gets his shot."

Later in the day, Fields took to Instagram to post a message.

And while the 25-year-old didn't address his demotion directly, the ideas he communicated about teamwork and success were a clear indication of where his mind is at.

"God is good," Fields captioned a photo of himself celebrating with a couple of teammates during the team's win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. "Great team dub. 💫"

Fields has been the consummate teammate during the team's 4-2 start. The QB has tallied 1,106 yards, 5 TDs and 1 INT while completing approximately two-thirds of his pass attempts. He has also produced 231 rushing yards and 5 TDs on the ground.
