Tennessee Dealt Major Injury Blow Ahead of Rivalry Game Against Alabama

On Monday, it was announced by head coach Josh Heupel that the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers would be without one of their best players on the team.

Redshirt senior linebacker, Keenan Pili, will be out for the rest of the season. This is quite the blow from a defensive unit that ranks as the No. 2 defense in the country in the total defense category. Pili was leading the Vols in tackles and was also one of the team's most experienced players on the team, being that this was his seventh year after starting his career at BYU.

Pili unfortunately tore his ACL in Tennessee's Week 7 win against the Florida Gators, marking the second year in a row that he suffered a season-ending injury.

As a recruit in the 2016 class, Pili was ranked as a three-star out of Provo, Utah and chose BYU over Cal, UNLV, Utah and Nevada.
