Katie Lou Samuelson Sends Message to Caitlin Clark After Making All-WNBA

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark added to her already impressive resume on Wednesday as she was named to the All-WNBA first team. Joining Clark on the squad includes A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty, Alyssa Thomas of the Connecticut Sun and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx.

Clark becomes the first rookie to make the All-WNBA first team since Los Angeles Sparks star Candace Parker made it in her first season in 2008. The former Iowa Hawkeyes standout is also the first guard to make the team since Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury in 2004.

Following the news, Clark's Fever teammate Katie Lou Samuelson took to social media to send a congratulatory message to the rookie.

"Shoutout to the babysitter Caitlin Clark," Samuelson wrote on her Instagram story. "First Team All WNBA."

Over the 2024 season, Clark and Samuelson's growing chemistry grew more apparent as the year went on. During the Olympic break, the two, along with Indiana guard Lexie Hull, even vacationed together in Cabo, Mexico. Following the league's return in mid-August, the Fever seemed to be much more comfortable together on the court, and the results proved this as they went 9-5 over the final stretch, securing their first playoff spot since 2016.

Clark finished the season averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year also broke countless records, including the most assists in a game and a season and the most points scored by a rookie.

Samuelson played in 37 of the Fever's 40 games, starting in 15 of those contests. The former UConn Huskies star averaged 4.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists. The forward joined Indiana in the 2024 offseason, signing a two-year, $355,250 contract.
