Lions Blockbuster Trade Proposal Replaces Hutchinson With $94M All-Pro

The Detroit Lions have become one of the NFL's premier destinations for good players who care about winning, which should put them in a strong position to find a quality replacement for injured defensive end Aidan Hutchinson .

However, when it comes to the Nov. 5 trade deadline and all the deals that can/might happen before then, players around the league don't have the same type of agency that they do in the offseason.

As such, a guy like Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby , a Michigan native, can't choose to change uniforms and enlist with a team like the Lions. However, Detroit can call Las Vegas and make a monster offer to try and cash in on a championship window that is clearly open now.

That was the advice to the Lions from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

"Also, is it worth calling the Raiders about Maxx Crosby, given Las Vegas' 2-4 start?" Fowler wrote . "I highly doubt Las Vegas would part with him, but it's worth asking."

Detroit can always ask, but if the franchise wants the Raiders to listen, that ask probably needs to come with the kind of godfather offer that lets Las Vegas know the Lions are more than a little serious about getting a deal done.

FanDuel's official X account offered an example of such an offer on Wednesday.

"The Lions bring Maxx Crosby home. The Raiders get TWO 1st-rounders," FanDuel wrote . "Should Detroit & Las Vegas make this trade after Aidan Hutchinson's injury?"

Crosby, who was born an hour outside of Detroit, is currently playing on a four-year contract worth $94 million total that runs through 2026. He's been a Pro Bowler in each of the past three seasons, earning Second-Team All-Pro honors in both 2021 and 2023.

The 27-year-old Crosby has amassed 97 tackles for loss and 57.5 sacks across 88 games played in the NFL, which include 82 starts, over his six-year career.

Crosby is currently tied for the league lead in tackles for loss with nine -- a category in which he's led the NFL in each of the past two seasons -- and has also tallied 5.5 sacks despite already missing one game due to injury.
