Banged Up Eagles Taking Further Hits In Practice

Before coming out of their bye week, the Philadelphia Eagles were seriously banged up with a rash of injuries to key players. Entering Week 6, those concerns seemed to be put aside.

Then the team actually played their game.

After welcoming back A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Lane Johnson to the field for a multitude of injuries, Philadelphia suffered three more important ones during their 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Jordan Mailata, Dallas Goedert, and Darius Slay.

There is some good news in that regard, though.

Slay was seen at practice on Wednesday while both Goedert and Mailata were not placed on IR - meaning their injuries could truly just take a "couple of weeks" as head coach Nick Sirianni alluded to.

That being said, it's not like Mailata and Goedert are easily replaceable.

The former seventh-round pick and second-round tight end from the same draft have been instrumental to the team's success over the years. While Goedert has become sort of injury-prone during his time in the last few years, Mailata has become one of the league's best tackles.

Backup left tackle Fred Johnson will be scheduled to replace Mailata. His next two opponents: Brian Burns and the Giants, along with Trey Hendrickson and the Bengals.

Not exactly the best time to lose three players after a win.
