After a standout rookie season with the Chicago Sky, WNBA star Angel Reese took over the red carpet Tuesday in New York. The rookie recently attended the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, giving her fans a glimpse of the experience after posting a few pictures from the event on social media.

Reese posted a slideshow of her outfit on Instagram, tagging Victoria's Secret in her caption and giving a shoutout to the people who helped style her runway look.

The rookie mentioned that she got her dress from Diotima, her nails done with Jeimy Lemus, her makeup from Latisha Chancey and her jewelry from David Yurman.

At the event, Reese wore a red crochet dress with a cut-out back and fringe bottom. According to Jenna Lemoncelli at the New York Post , the dress is from a Jamaican brand known for handmade items.

Upon releasing the photos on social media, Reese received thousands of reactions, some of which came from members of the WNBA community.

WNBA legend Lisa Leslie was among the many people who messaged Reese after seeing her fashion show.

Leslie seemed to be impressed with the look, giving Reese a new nickname while commenting on the post.

"Okay!!!" Leslie said. "I like Sophisticated Barbie."

The original "Barbie" nickname for Reese came from her time with the LSU Tigers at the collegiate level, when she was called "Bayou Barbie." Once she was drafted to the Sky, Reese also donned the nickname "Chi-Barbie."

Leslie's comment about Reese wasn't the first time the WNBA legend has praised the rookie. A few months ago, Leslie posted a message about Reese on social media, congratulating the rookie on making the WNBA All-Star roster.

"I’m so proud of you!" Leslie said . "Congratulations on your first All-Star! I told you! They will all regret passing on you."

During her rookie season with the Sky, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. She was the only rookie to average a double-double and led the WNBA in rebounds per game.

The Sky finished the 2024 season with a 13-27 record, 10th-best in the 12-team league.
