There’s no question when it comes to expressing themselves, Kris Dunn’s name is among the first to pop up, at least on the Clippers. Stemming from a competitive side, the 6-foot-3 guard’s vocality has been observed during team practices and interviews.

Always looking to keep the morale high in the locker room, Dunn was recently asked who other than him was the loudest member of the Clippers. Responding to the question, the 30-year-old would dished out his four names, who he thought had a commanding voice on the team.

“I can go Elijah (Harkless), I can go James (Harden) he’s been vocal, I think that’s going with his leadership….I think Norm’s been doing an unbelievable job,” revealed Dunn .

However, Dunn’s no.1 candidate wasn’t on the roster but behind the scenes on Ty Lue’s coaching crew. Announcing his top choice, the Clippers guard said , “JVG (Jeff Van Gundy) he on us all day, I gave him the trophy JVG.”

It’s no secret that Van Gundy has been one of the most outspoken personalities, whether as a coach or commentator for ESPN.

    JVG is a tough taskmaster

Those who have played under him on the Knicks or Rockets can second that Van Gundy isn’t the easiest to please. The 2000 All-Star head coach comes from an old-school mentality of playing hard while also being a huge advocate for defense.

Known to specialize in running various defensive schemes, JVG was the perfect candidate for the Ballmer franchise. Speaking to the media a couple of days back, Derrick Jones Jr. disclosed how the veteran wanted Clips to be top 5 defensively.

Clippers to keep defense top priority this season

Coach T-Lue and crew have a different manual going into the season, given the significant changes to the roster post Paul George’s exit.

Looking to make the best of the situation, the front office would scout players, with defense being one of the key qualifications. Hence, onboarding the likes of DJJ, Mo Bamba, Kevin Porter Jr., Nicolas Batum, Kris Dunn, and others.
